We have received funding from the SUEZ Community Fund to improve the ground equipment at the club. As many will know the club maintains (cuts and marks) the pitch and surrounding areas at Kingscote Park. We have been doing this work as well as occasionally more since 2016 when we purchased our first tractor/mower.
Since purchasing our first tractor/mower we have cut a lot of grass and learnt a lot about what is possible and not possible with the machine we have. The new funding has allowed us to purchase a more powerful tractor with a bigger finishing mower and an additional flail mower.
The bigger finishing mower will allow us to cut the existing areas quicker than we could with the existing machine and the flail mower will allow us to open up more areas of the park for sport.
The club along with Blackpool Council have plans for more facilities at Kingscote Park to accommodate increasing numbers of teams at the club. Initially we plan to open up the land at the side of the existing pitch for a second pitch. This land has laid fallow for some time and will need some work and take some time before a pitch can be established. Cutting the long grass and overgrown areas down will allow us to establish the size of the task.
