Blackpool Stanley finished their first game for over six weeks with a convincing win away at Culcheth Eagles. Despite travelling with 12 men due to late withdrawals the Stanley side were first to settle in to their pattern of play. Winter was first to score following some dominant play by the Stanley props Harrison and Craven making the score 4 – 0 after only five minutes. The home side rallied and managed to level the score after 12 minutes, making the score 4 – 4. The rest of the half was then dominated by Stanley resulting in a 34 – 4 half time score line. First Half tries coming from Ajay Lord (2), Feargus Anderson (2) and Dean Harding, Lord converted 2 tries and Anderson a further 2. The pick of the first half tries was undoubtedly Harding’s who worked tirelessly throughout the half and beat a number of defenders to reach the try line.

The second half was much the same as the first with Stanley dominant throughout. Tries from Lord (2), Winter and Hindley and four conversions from Lord were replied with 10 from the Eagles leaving the final score 58 – 14 in the visitors favour.

Man of the Match for Stanley was Nathan Winter who ran hard and strong throughout the game. Stanley’s top tackler was dean Harding.
