A typical cold, wet and windy Sunday morning for both teams as they took to the field to try and advance up the league table.…
Blackpool started off well as they began defending against the opposition, the wall of Stanley players made easy work of the Culcheth attack and quickly made themselves known on the pitch. Strong runs from Jordan Hindley and Connor Willis put the Eagles under pressure giving Ross Swarbrick a chance to dive over the line to put Stanley in the points.
Despite the solid defence from Stanley, a catalogue of handling errors from Blackpool gave Culcheth the chance they needed to leave them behind on the scoreboard.
Blackpool regained composure and began a second assault with Tribe and Winter working well centre field. Outstanding drives and tackles from Danny Siddal gave him a well deserved try under the sticks which was swiftly converted by Webster.
In spite of Blackpool’s efforts, they couldn’t catch the Eagles up. But yet again a strong performance from Stanley, who will look to improve in training as they take on Wigan Spring View next Sunday.
