The club has been awarded a grant for £3800 towards the restoration of a full sized pitch at Kingscote Park, Layton by the Parklands area Forum.
Area Forum funding is organised through Blackpool Council and 7 Area Forums meet across the borough to award funding to worthwhile causes. The forums are made up of local residents from the wards covered by each forum. The Parklands Forum, which covers the Park and Layton wards, met in early May and approved the funding application received from the club unanimously. The Forum money will be received by mid/late may and will make a significant contribution to the £4250 cost of restoring the pitch.
The works to be carried out over the summer months include the installation of a field drain to remove water from an underground stream that was disturbed during the installation of the ground source heat loop, the levelling of the ground, widening of the pitch and re-installation of the post sockets.
The works will take place during May/June 2014 with a view to having the pitch available for use at the start of the 2015 season.
