The club has been awarded £2000 from Blackpool Citizens Advice Bureau (BlackpoolCAN).

We originally applied for £4250 earlier in the year to build the volunteer infrastructure at the club. The following is a piece of text taken from the application

We are applying for funding to provide more volunteer/parent education. This will include statutory DBS and safeguarding education as well as role specific education including UKCC coaching courses (Level 1 and 2) in Rugby League, First Aid Courses and Food Hygiene Courses (for catering roles in the club house). We would also like to provide the volunteers with a club branded shirt to build team spirit and overall identity.

The award will allow us to provide training to volunteers who come forward to actively support our development plans.

Chairman, Simon Hornby, commented “it is important that we have suitably qualified and confident volunteers at the club as our playing numbers grow. There are an increasing number of team and club roles being established now as our partnership with the Warriors starts to bear fruit and being able to finance the training of volunteers is an important part of our development strategy”.
