Dave Sankey

It’s with great sadness that the club announces the passing of former Stanley player, Dave Sankey. Dave had struggled with his health over recent years and passed away peacefully at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on Wednesday 7th April 2021.

Dave played for the club in what many would describe as the glory days of the 1980’s and 1990’s, when the club achieved successive promotions to reach the first division of what was then the North West Counties League.

The clubs thought are with and condolences go to Dave’s family at this sad and difficult time.

Friendly Games Announced

The club is please to announce the scheduling of two friendly fixtures on the 24th April and 1st May, both are Saturdays and both will be played at home with a kick off time of 2pm.

On Saturday 24th April the clubs plays host to Garswood Stags A from St Helens and on Saturday 1st May we’ll host South Ribble Rabbitohs.

Both games will be played under modified rules as part of The RFLs return to play plan. COVID restrictions will apply and everyone planning to attend will be expected to follow the COVID restrictions in place at the time.

Open Age training resumed last week with a late switch from Stanley Park to Kingscote Park due to excessive numbers at Stanley Park. Training sessions will continue on Wednesdays and Saturdays from here on in at Kingscote Park.
